You know how you felt
When you finished the last Harry Potter book? For me it was a combination of happiness at finally knowing what happened and why; with sadness at realizing that there would be no more books coming (that said I still believe JK Rowling will revisit the HP world). The Pyramid by Henning Mankell is the equivalent to book 7 of HP. Mankell visits Inspector Kurt Wallander one last time with five short stories that take place at different times in his career, filling in the missing details the other books left out.
Translated from the original Swedish the Kurt Wallander series is police procedurals at its best, right along Rankin. This book is not meant to be read first.
