Coercion by Douglas Rushkoff is an interesting book. It basically lays out how businesses and organizations are working nonstop to influence all of your choices. Basically if you go into a situation thinking nothing is having an effect on you, then you are a naive idiot who is sadly blind to the world around them.
Remember what I do when someone asks you "Can you tell me why you are cancelling or not taking advantage of this deal or service."
Your answer should always be a simple no. You do not owe them an explanation. When you present reasons you are only ask them to provide solutions.
